SanDisk Optimus Series Signals Shift in Gaming Hardware Priorities: Speed and Capacity Take Center Stage

SanDisk is making a stronger push into the gaming and esports sector as modern games demand increasingly more storage for downloads and updates. With the Indian gaming market surpassing the USD 1 billion mark in 2025 and projected to have over 550 million gamers in 2026, the company is entering the ecosystem with two powerful new SSDs: the SanDisk Optimus GX SSD and the SanDisk Optimus GX PRO SSD. Launched in 2026, these drives are built for gamers and developers, respectively, offering the capacity and speed required by demanding titles.

Traditional gaming hardware discussions often center on GPUs and CPUs, but the SanDisk Optimus GX PRO 8100, a PCIe 5.0 NVMe SSD, aims to deliver a friction-free experience. Players can run games, multitask, and transfer files without lag. For console gamers, SanDisk introduced microSD Express cards for handheld gaming consoles, boasting read speeds up to 880 MB/s and the ability to store up to 36 games.

As AAA games grow and digital libraries expand, storage is becoming a regular part of gaming upgrades rather than an afterthought. The Optimus range illustrates how gaming hardware priorities are evolving: performance is no longer just about graphics and processing power. For players with extensive libraries, fast and spacious storage is now one of the most practical upgrades available. As games continue to expand, the humble SSD may play an increasingly critical role in any gaming setup.

  • Dragon’s Dogma 2 Update Adds 60 FPS Mode, Hard Mode, and Major Fixes

Dragon’s Dogma 2 Update Adds 60 FPS Mode, Hard Mode, and Major Fixes

Capcom has released a major update for Dragon’s Dogma 2, delivering one of the most significant enhancements since the game launched. The Title Update 3.2 introduces a Performance Mode targeting 60 FPS on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, a new Hard Mode, gameplay tweaks, and numerous bug fixes.

Game director Kento Kinoshita confirmed that the 60 FPS patch is part of the update arriving at the end of August. The Hard Mode adds a fresh difficulty level for players who have reached the level cap, presenting new challenges. The studio is also preparing for the Dark Arisen expansion, slated for an October launch.

Producer Naoto Oyama stated, “As one indicator of this, we have tuned the game to run at 60 FPS in Performance Mode on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.” He added, “We’ll also be revising the minimum and recommended system requirements for PC, so please stay tuned for further details.” The DLC is expected to introduce a new story, a new map region, deeper customization options, and fresh challenges.

Console players have long requested a stable high-frame-rate mode. While the game’s action was visually impressive, it didn’t always run smoothly. The update addresses this, making combat more responsive, movement smoother, and exploration more enjoyable. Though frame rates may still dip in demanding scenes, players consider this a major improvement over the launch version.

This update goes beyond a simple patch—it enhances performance, adds a tougher mode, and fixes many reported issues. For returning players, it’s a compelling reason to start a new adventure. For newcomers, Dragon’s Dogma 2 now offers a smoother, more polished experience.
