NSE IPO Opens September 17 Alongside Six Stock Debuts: Key Details for Investors

    NSE IPO Opens for Subscription

Dalal Street is bracing for a busy session on Thursday, September 17, as the National Stock Exchange’s long-awaited initial public offering opens for subscription. The same day, six companies that completed their IPOs last week are scheduled to begin trading on the NSE and BSE.

The NSE IPO is an offer for sale, meaning existing shareholders are selling their shares and the exchange itself will not receive any proceeds from the offering. The issue is valued at around Rs. 22,568 crore, making it one of India’s largest public offerings, with a price band fixed at Rs. 1,700 to Rs. 1,785 per share. The subscription window remains open from September 17 to September 21.

Ahead of the public issue, 189 institutional investors participated in the anchor allocation, buying shares worth approximately Rs. 6,746 crore at Rs. 1,785 per share.

Six Companies Ready for Listing Day

Investors will also track the stock-market debut of six companies that wrapped up their IPOs last week:

    • RentoMojo
    • LCC Projects
    • Manipal Payment & Identity Solutions
    • Asset Reconstruction Company (India)
    • Karamtara Engineering
    • Steamhouse India

Collectively, these six issues generated strong demand. According to the Times of India, the offerings drew total bids of around Rs. 1.4 lakh crore, against a combined mobilisation target of about Rs. 7,100 crore.

Among the debutants, RentoMojo raised about Rs. 1,255.6 crore, Karamtara Engineering Rs. 875 crore, Manipal Payment & Identity Solutions Rs. 805 crore, Asset Reconstruction Company (India) Rs. 733 crore, LCC Projects Rs. 427 crore and Steamhouse India Rs. 414 crore.

    Derivatives Market in Focus

The NSE listing also comes at a time of change in the derivatives segment, a key revenue source for the exchange. Reuters reported that investors are weighing recent regulatory changes and softer derivatives volumes while assessing the offer.

With the primary market buzzing, Thursday’s session is expected to keep Dalal Street active as both the exchange’s IPO and the new listings take centre stage.

  • Indian Stock Market Tumbles: Sensex Plunges 555 Points as US-Iran Tensions Push Crude Prices Higher

Indian Stock Market Tumbles: Sensex Plunges 555 Points as US-Iran Tensions Push Crude Prices Higher

Indian equity markets came under severe pressure on September 8, as escalating hostilities between the United States and Iran in the Persian Gulf drove crude oil prices higher and exacerbated concerns over the weakening rupee. The benchmark Sensex fell 555 points to close at 75,577, while the broader Nifty declined 144 points to end at 23,635.

The latest decline extends the Sensex’s one-month loss to nearly 3,000 points, or 3.8%, and the Nifty’s drop to 949 points, or 3.9%. Foreign funds continued to offload Indian stocks, adding to the negative sentiment on Dalal Street.

Foreign Investor Selling Accelerates in September

Foreign investor activity had been cautious since mid-August, with net purchases of Rs. 2,953 crore from August 10 through the end of the month, according to combined data from NSDL and BSE. However, the trend reversed sharply in September, with foreign funds net selling stocks worth approximately Rs. 12,700 crore so far this month, further pressuring the market.

    Rupee Weakens Amid Risk-Off Mood

The Indian rupee also remained under pressure, falling 34 paise to close at 94.83 per U.S. dollar, despite a record $136 billion inflow through the Reserve Bank of India’s special dollar deposit scheme for NRIs. According to Dilip Parmar of HDFC Securities, the rupee fell in a risk-off environment because of high crude oil prices and aggressive dollar buying.

Market Experts Comment on Rising Tensions

Ankur Punj, Managing Director at Equirus Wealth, noted that renewed hostility between the U.S. and Iran pushed investors toward a low-risk stance on equity assets. “Mirroring weak global cues, domestic markets extended their losing streak Tuesday amid selling in banking, IT, oil and gas, and realty shares. Increasing tension in West Asia triggered a sharp rise in crude oil prices, while depreciation in the local currency against the dollar also dampened the overall market sentiment,” he said.

Investors Lose Rs. 35,000 Crore in a Single Day

The sharp decline in market values resulted in losses of approximately Rs. 35,000 crore for investors on that day. The total market capitalization of BSE stood at Rs. 486.2 lakh crore. Among Sensex stocks, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, and Reliance Industries contributed the most to the decline. However, purchases in BEL, Hindustan Unilever, and Adani Ports helped stem further losses.

  • Indian Stock Market Poised for Strong Open as Wall Street Rally Boosts Global Sentiment

Indian Stock Market Poised for Strong Open as Wall Street Rally Boosts Global Sentiment

Strong global shifts are expected to give Dalal Street a positive start on Wednesday, August 5. The possible US-Iran agreement is bringing back investor confidence, along with lower crude oil prices. The easing of geopolitical tension declined the price of crude oil to approximately $74 per barrel from previously $75 per barrel. This positive sentiment is reflected in 24,700 in early trade of GIFT Nifty.

About the improved investor sentiments, Ponmudi R, CEO at Enrich Money, said, “While the recent decline in crude oil prices reflects growing optimism over a potential normalization of shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, investors are likely to remain cautious until there is greater clarity on the evolving geopolitical situation.”

He further added, “Attention is firmly focused on the Reserve Bank of India’s Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) decision due this morning.” Notably, RBI’s decision arrived on Wednesday morning, following a three-day meeting, and the central bank kept the repo rate unchanged at 5.25% to control instability in the market.

This morning Asian equities are trading firmly higher, tracking Wall Street’s second consecutive session of record gains. South Korea’s Kospi deserves a special mention with gains of more than 4%. Japan’s Nikkei 225 progressed 3.15% in the same timeframe. Similarly, the small-cap Kosdaq is up 2.4%, and the broader Topix has gained 1.4%.

Traders are not lowering their guard, despite the positive start. The reported US-Iran deal is not yet finalized, and any change in the situation could quickly impact global markets. Investors will also eye crude oil prices, foreign investment flows and upcoming economic data for direction.

However, the mood is still upbeat. Lower oil prices, a strong rally on Wall Street and positive cues from GIFT Nifty have created a better environment for Indian stocks. Dalal Street may continue to hold its positive momentum in the coming sessions if global conditions stay stable.

  • Indian Stock Market Ends Lower: Sensex, Nifty Fall as Banking and IT Stocks Weigh

Indian Stock Market Ends Lower: Sensex, Nifty Fall as Banking and IT Stocks Weigh

Indian benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty closed lower on Thursday, July 23, 2026, extending their losing streak to a fourth consecutive day. Rising crude oil prices, geopolitical tensions in West Asia, and sustained selling pressure in banking, pharmaceutical, and IT stocks dampened investor sentiment, offsetting gains in select auto and consumer sectors.

The BSE Sensex fell below the 76,600 mark during the session, while the NSE Nifty 50 remained weak under the psychologically important 24,000 level. At 14:55 IST, the Sensex was down 517.34 points or 0.67% at 76,237.71, and the Nifty was down 167.35 points or 0.70% at 23,828.90. About 1,440 shares advanced, 2,361 declined, and 148 remained unchanged.

    Market Drivers

Rising crude oil prices, fueled by tensions between the US, Iran, and the Red Sea region, remained the primary factor influencing investor mood. Concerns over inflation, higher import costs, and compressed corporate profitability weighed on sentiment.

    Top Gainers

Investor interest was largely confined to automobile and industrial stocks, where companies with strong income prospects and robust domestic demand outperformed. Auto shares led the market despite the overall negative tone.

    Top Losers

Pharmaceutical shares came under pressure after Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories reported weak quarterly results. Banks and financial services firms also faced selling. Defensive stocks like Nestlé India were among the major laggards.

    Market Trends

Thursday’s session reinforced the cautious mood across Dalal Street. Brent crude oil prices near $96–$97 per barrel raised concerns about rising energy costs potentially fueling inflation, widening India’s current account deficit, and squeezing corporate margins. Despite the negative macro backdrop, market participants continued to focus on the earnings season, with some blue-chip results disappointing.

    What Investors Can Take Away

The market remains influenced by macroeconomic events rather than company-specific news. Heightened geopolitical tensions and rising oil prices have prompted a risk-off stance, leading to selective buying rather than broad participation. The resilience of automobile and industrial stocks, however, indicates that investors are still willing to back sectors with strong domestic fundamentals. In the coming days, corporate results, oil price movements, and global geopolitical developments will drive market direction.

Note: Percentage gains for some stocks were not officially disclosed in end-of-day summaries, but they featured among the session’s strongest performers.

  • Dalal Street Closed for Muharram: Key Support and Resistance Levels for Sensex, Nifty, and Bank Nifty Ahead of June 29 Trading

Dalal Street Closed for Muharram: Key Support and Resistance Levels for Sensex, Nifty, and Bank Nifty Ahead of June 29 Trading

The Indian stock markets are closed today in observance of Muharram, with no trading on the BSE and NSE across equity, equity derivatives, securities lending and borrowing (SLB), currency derivatives, and interest rate derivatives segments. The commodities markets will remain closed for the morning session (9:00 AM to 5:00 PM) but will operate as usual for the evening session (5:00 PM to 11:30 PM / 11:55 PM).

On the last trading day before the holiday, the Sensex gained 109.25 points, or 0.14%, to close at 77,100.47, while the Nifty 50 rose 34.35 points, or 0.14%, to settle at 24,056. However, both indices gave up most of their intraday gains as investors booked profits late in the session. The rupee strengthened by 25 paise against the US dollar, closing at ₹94.40, compared to the previous close of ₹94.65.

    Sensex Outlook

Technically, the Sensex formed a bearish candle with a long upper wick, indicating weak momentum after a strong opening. Immediate support is seen at 76,933; a break below this level could invite a deeper correction toward 76,000 in the short term. The 77,500 level will act as a crucial resistance, and a sustained break above this could push the index toward 78,000.

    Nifty 50 Outlook

The Nifty 50 has immediate support at 23,950 for Monday. Positive weekend global cues and a resolution to the Iran-US situation could help the index hold above 24,000 at the open, targeting 24,200 as the first resistance. However, the monthly expiry of the Sensex on Monday could create cross-index volatility, particularly in the afternoon session, potentially pushing the Nifty below 24,000 temporarily even if broader predictions remain positive.

    Bank Nifty Outlook

The Bank Nifty closed the week at 58,177.05, following a 1.68% surge on the previous Wednesday’s expiry and subsequent consolidation. Unlike the Sensex, the Bank Nifty has no direct expiry event on Monday. However, the Sensex monthly expiry on June 29, 2026, directly impacts HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank, which could create indirect volatility in the Bank Nifty. Support is at 57,900, with an upside target of 58,500 if global cues improve over the weekend.

All eyes are now on the June 29 trading session as traders reposition after the holiday break.
