Pre-orders for God of War Laufey are set to begin on September 29 at 10 a.m. local time, as announced on the PlayStation blog. The highly anticipated title will officially launch on PlayStation 5 on February 16, 2027. Players will have two purchase options: a Standard Edition and a Digital Deluxe Edition.
Pre-Order Bonuses and Editions
Those who pre-order any edition will receive the Last Wish Armor Set, the Phranque Golden Leaves appearance, and an in-game resource pack. The Digital Deluxe Edition adds the Dark Alchemy Armor Set, Blade, Bow Scales, Catalyst, a resource pack, a digital artbook, and the original soundtrack.
Faye’s Serpent Bow: A New Combat Style
A recent blog post detailed Faye’s Serpent Bow, a versatile weapon effective at both close and long range. Players will have full aim control, allowing them to target specific enemy parts to slow them or interrupt attacks. Notably, Faye can charge up to five arrows and fire them simultaneously. A half-aim mode provides a faster hip-fire option when enemies are nearby, making combat more dynamic.
This new combat system shifts away from repetitive attacks, blending precision shots with rapid volleys and quick hip-fire. Santa Monica Studio is clearly differentiating Faye’s gameplay from previous God of War entries, promising a fresh experience for fans.
Why Pre-Order Matters
For a major AAA release, early sales are crucial. Pre-order incentives encourage early purchases, while the higher-priced Digital Deluxe Edition offers additional revenue from dedicated fans seeking extra content.
God of War Laufey is still months away, but the studio is already building excitement with these detailed reveals. Stay tuned for more updates as the release date approaches.
