SuperStation One’s Long-Awaited Console Mode Update Is Finally Here

SuperStation One owners can finally celebrate: the long-delayed Console Mode update is now available. Announced before the system launched, the feature was held back while developers ironed out issues. Now, on July 29, 2026, Taki Udon confirmed on X: “We delayed this release from last month until today to fix issues and to cook. Here’s a new game view called Big Grid. It looks great on CRT.”

SuperStation One is an FPGA-based retro console built for classic PlayStation games. The new Console Mode strips away the desktop-style interface, offering a cleaner, console-like menu that’s easier to navigate with a controller. The team emphasized that the delay was necessary to ensure a polished experience from day one.

Console Mode is just one highlight. The update also introduces a Grid View for browsing game libraries, RetroAchievements support for unlocking in-game achievements, an improved menu layout, and numerous bug fixes. Performance tweaks make the system run more smoothly during everyday use.

Overall, the update makes the SuperStation One feel faster, cleaner, and more user-friendly. While it arrived later than many hoped, the improvements—including a better interface, smoother performance, and new features—make the wait worthwhile for both new and longtime retro gaming enthusiasts.
