Gold Prices Today: Yellow Metal Nears Rs 1.45 Lakh, Silver Tops Rs 2.25 Lakh

Gold and silver prices opened higher across India’s retail and futures markets on Monday, tracking gains in global bullion amid renewed safe-haven demand. Retail rates for both 24-karat and 22-karat gold edged up across major cities, while silver also advanced in the domestic market.

On the MCX, gold futures rose 0.51% to Rs 144,520 per 10 grams, and silver futures gained 1.01% to Rs 225,120 per kg at around 9:07 a.m.

The domestic rally mirrored strong global developments, whereby the price of spot gold rose by 1.4% to reach $4,110.56 per ounce and that of US gold futures increased by 1% to reach $4,112.10 per ounce by 0200 GMT.

The rally came amid reduced fears of rising inflation amid falling oil prices owing to the slight easing of tensions in the Middle East region before the Fed’s rate decision.

A 0.3% decline in the US dollar index also made gold more affordable for overseas buyers, lending further support to bullion prices.

    City-Wise Gold Prices Today (July 27, 2026)

Gold rates varied slightly across major Indian cities. In Delhi, 24K gold was priced at Rs 1,44,870 per 10 grams, while 22K gold stood at Rs 1,32,800. Mumbai saw 24K gold at Rs 1,44,720 and 22K at Rs 1,32,660. In Chennai, 24K gold was at Rs 1,45,020 and 22K at Rs 1,32,940. Kolkata recorded 24K gold at Rs 1,44,770 and 22K at Rs 1,32,710.

Gold Price Trend Analysis in 2026

Gold has delivered a strong performance in India throughout 2026, even after retreating from record highs. MCX gold averaged Rs 1,51,108 per 10 grams in the first quarter, marking a 20% rise from the previous quarter and an 81% jump year-on-year, according to the World Gold Council.

Subsequently, the prices dropped to levels of around Rs 1.41 lakh in June, only to recover back to nearly Rs 1.45 lakh per 10 grams by end of July.

Overall demand for gold in India increased by 10% during the first quarter, totaling 151 tonnes, with investment demand shooting up by 54%, touching 82 tonnes.

Moving ahead, experts expect volatility in prices, where global events, actions of the US Fed, and movements in the rupee vis-a-vis the dollar will trigger the next phase of profits.

    What’s Next for Gold Prices?

Gold prices remain well-supported despite recent volatility, reflecting investors’ continued preference for safe-haven assets amid global uncertainty.

With the US Federal Reserve’s policy decision, geopolitical developments, and movements in the US dollar likely to dictate the next leg of the rally, bullion prices may continue to fluctuate in the near term.

For buyers, monitoring daily price movements and broader market cues will be key before making fresh investment or jewellery purchases.

Brent crude oil futures fell 0.80% to $88.51 per barrel, slipping below the $90 mark. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude edged down 0.46% to $82.10 per barrel. The drop in oil prices eased inflation concerns, supporting demand for gold as a safe-haven asset.

    Key Levels to Watch

“It looks like gold is trying to find a base somewhere around this $4,000 level and is going to try to re-engage the upside from there,” said Ilya Spivak, head of global macro at Tastylive. “These headlines from the Middle East seem to have some degree of knock-on, though it is increasingly only being paid attention to in a passing kind of way.”

Internationally, gold has support at $3,989 and $3,945, with resistance at $4,040 and $4,074 per troy ounce. Silver has support at $56.20 and $55.50, with resistance at $57.70 and $58.50 per troy ounce.

MCX Gold Declines 0.35% to ₹1,44,885 as Middle East Tensions and Fed Rate Concerns Weigh

Gold prices on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) slipped on July 8, tracking weakness in global bullion markets as escalating tensions between the United States and Iran in the Middle East stoked inflation fears and strengthened the U.S. dollar. August gold futures fell 0.35% to ₹1,44,885 per 10 grams, while September silver futures dropped 0.8% to ₹2,29,007 per kilogram.

Brent crude futures jumped 2.55% to $76.05 a barrel, and U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) advanced 2.51% to $72.21 a barrel, reflecting supply concerns from the geopolitical unrest.

    Fed Rate Hike Expectations Rise

According to the CME FedWatch Tool, traders now see a 63% probability of a rate hike in September, up from 57% previously. Higher interest rates tend to pressure gold prices by increasing the opportunity cost of holding non-yielding assets.

    Domestic Gold Prices

In the domestic market, 24K gold fell by ₹77 to ₹1,44,490 per 10 grams, while 22K gold declined by ₹70 to ₹1,32,450. City-wise, Mumbai and Kolkata quoted gold at ₹1,44,490, Delhi at ₹1,44,640, and Chennai at ₹1,45,420.

Key levels for MCX gold indicate immediate resistance at ₹1,46,000 per 10 grams and support at ₹1,44,000. Analysts note that while the broader trend remains under pressure, a technical pullback is possible at current levels. For MCX silver, major resistance is at ₹2,32,500 per kilogram, with support at ₹2,28,000.

“Over the past 24 hours, there was a little bit of a scare again on the inflation front. So bonds came in lower, the dollar popped a little, gold pulled back, and now seems to be kind of stabilising after that correction. At this point, we’ve been watching gold attempt to carve out a bottom,” said Ilya Spivak, head of global macro at Tastylive.

  • Gold and Silver Rates Today: 24K, 22K and 999 Prices Across Major Indian Cities (July 5, 2026)

Gold and Silver Rates Today: 24K, 22K and 999 Prices Across Major Indian Cities (July 5, 2026)

Gold and silver prices remained in focus on July 5 as investors tracked global market trends. Check the latest retail rates for 24K, 22K, 18K gold and 999 silver across Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and other major Indian cities.

Gold prices were mostly stable in India on July 5, 2026, with no changes at the retail level from the previous day since the bullion market closed on account of the weekend. Gold futures on MCX saw a slight decline to Rs. 1.47 lakh per 10 grams, as investors booked profits, while the rupee strengthened against the softer dollar amid reduced expectations of hikes in Fed rate. The yellow metal remains one of the better-performing asset classes over the past year, with returns of nearly 37.6%.

    City-Wise Gold & Silver Rates

Retail gold prices showed only marginal city-to-city variation, with Delhi trading slightly above Mumbai and Kolkata, reflecting local levies and demand patterns.

Silver prices also stayed flat over the weekend, with 999-purity silver trading at approximately Rs. 250 per gram or Rs. 2,500 for 10 grams. It has recently performed better than gold, posting a one-year return of over 83%.

    What’s Driving the Price Action

The international spot price of gold remained confined to $4,150 – $4,180 per ounce as the bulls were pitted between a relatively dovish Fed and a firmer greenback coupled with new economic data. Gold prices have remained in a correction phase, declining nearly 8% over the past month. Despite the recent pullback, market expectations suggest prices will trade within a range in the short term. The World Gold Council has identified support at $4,000 per ounce and resistance at $4,300 per ounce.

Should You Wait or Purchase Now?

Market analysts continue to favor a staggered investment approach over a lump sum purchase, especially for those buying gold as a long-term investment rather than as jewellery. Buyers should verify the BIS hallmark certificate before making a purchase. They should also factor in GST and making charges when comparing prices. In addition, gold prices can vary across jewellers based on location and individual premiums, even when the underlying metal rate remains the same.
